Meet the Deep2Peak #DreamTeam
Deep Relief Peak Performance was founded in 2008 to provide Athletic Training Services to professional and elite athletes training on Maui without their usual medical staff.
We have since expanded to specialize in pain relief, postural balancing, rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning for athletes of all levels.
Samantha Campbell, ATC, CSCS, LMT

Deep Relief Founder Samantha Campbell is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Licensed Massage Therapist who has worked with elite athletes for almost 20 years. Since opening her practice, Samantha has enabled clients to enjoy pain-free activity, increased strength and flexibility, and injury resolution. She has traveled the world working with elite athletes from the US Ski Team, Triathlon Canada, Red Bull, and other high performance programs. She enjoys an assortment of water sports, ski and snowboard, Ultimate Frisbee, hiking, and Pilates.
Lindsey Dennis, LMT

Lindsey Dennis of Inspiration Health developed a passion for fitness as a competitive swimmer and collegiate basketball player. She enjoys pursuing her mission to positively change the health and wellbeing of everyone she works with, placing high importance on providing accurate health information for her clients. Her strong research background includes a BS in Exercise Science and Wellness from Bastyr University and an internship with the Washington Institute of Sports Medicine. Lindsey continues to further her education, with current certifications including Performance Enhancement Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Group Fitness Instructor, STOTT PILATES Matwork Level 1, FMS 1, and Licensed Massage Therapist. She enjoys basketball, freediving, swimming, learning, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Melanie Ehlen, CPT, LMT

Melanie Ehlen Maui LLC is a Certified Personal Trainer and Licensed Massage Therapist originally from Aachen, Germany, where she studied massage therapy and physical therapy. She spent over 25 years traveling the world to learn about human movement and practicing massage. Melanie is constantly expanding her knowledge base and has completed training in Mat Pilates, Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Mobilization, and Neural/Visceral Manipulation. She loves combining treatment and training sessions for an integrated approach to whole-body healing and increased well-being and performance.

Mackenzie Brown LLC is a Licensed Physical Therapist, Orthopedic Certified Specialist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with her BS in Kinesiology and Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Mackenzie's goal is to provide individualized, high-quality care to her patients. She strongly values the role that hands-on, manual therapy can play on the road to recovery, in addition to patient education to promote pain-free and healthy lifestyle after recovery. Mackenzie specializes in treatment of vestibular dizziness and balance dysfunction, as well as consults on her husband's canine acupuncture and physical medicine cases to help dogs recover from injury or surgery. Mackenzie enjoys all that beautiful Maui has to offer including surfing, outrigger canoe paddling with Na Kai Ewalu, trail running, and hiking.

Born and raised on the North Shore of Maui, Lisa Stein of Kaku Racing Maui began competing in triathlon and endurance running races in 2011, supplementing her training as a spin teacher and cycling guide. Her love of racing encouraged her to continue her education, becoming a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and USA Triathlon Certified Coach in 2017. Lisa is passionate about working with people to accomplish their physical goals. She adds to the Deep2Peak Team by offering one on one Personal Training, Strength Endurance Group Fitness Classes, Zoom Training, and Triathlon Coaching and Program Design.
Brad Cunningham, LMT

Brad Cunningham is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Personal Trainer. He specializes in advanced bodywork and manual therapy modalities including myofascial release and orthopedic massage. Brad’s hobbies include surfing, freediving, hunting, and spending time with his family. He is inspired by the work of Vladimir Janda, Phillip Greenman, and Karel Lewit and enjoys pursuing continuing education related to bodywork and wellness.
Malia Lauer, PT, DPT

Malia Lauer LLC is a Licensed Physical Therapist who specializes in sports-based and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Malia completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in San Diego. In addition to her conventional medical training, she has been a yoga instructor since 2011, with continued study through mentors both locally and abroad. Born and raised in Hawaii, Malia has a special passion for working with ocean athletes. She has worked closely with surgical teams, in emergency rooms, and on the field with competitive athletes, including EXOS in Los Angeles where she earned her Performance Specialist Certification (XPS) in 2018. Malia is also trained as a pelvic floor physical therapist, completing coursework through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Institute. She is especially interested in pre/postpartum and athlete return to sport. In her free time, you can find Malia surfing, free diving, doing aerial silks, farming, beekeeping, or learning.

Melissa Plemmons of Kona Flow Massage is practicing Licensed Massage Therapist on both Maui and the Big Island. Her previous career as a USET Professional Equestrian Trainer and UWLET collegiate coach has instilled in her the joy of helping others accomplish their goals. Melissa's passions evolved into the field of human health and wellness, where studying anatomy and biomechanics as applied to rehabilitation has helped her achieve optimal results with her clients. Melissa is certified in Orthopedic Massage, while also incorporating other soft tissue modalities including Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Cupping Therapy to assist clients in reaching their individualized goals. Having recently acquired her Personal Training Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, she is excited to expand her approach to wellness. Melissa spends her free time surfing, swimming, running with her dog and loves adventuring the amazing islands we get to call home.

Brian D. Jerva LLC is a Licensed Physical Therapist specializing in orthopedic and sports injuries. He is certified by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), working specifically with the assessment and treatment of golfers. In 2005 he graduated from Arcadia University in Philadelphia, where he went on to manage an outpatient PT Clinic while developing relationships with physicians from Philly's sports teams including the Eagles, Flyers, and Sixers. Brian’s approach combines 15 years of clinical experience with sport specific training to help you return to the activities you love while looking at the full-body picture, in an effort to resolve your pain and prevent future injury. He believes communication between all members of your team is key to maximizing your outcome. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and being active outdoors.

Laura A. Schmitt, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, ATC retired from the University of Delaware in 2020 where she was a clinician and course coordinator for both their in-house Integrated Clinical Experiences (Sports/ Orthopedic – PHYT821 and Neurologic/Older Adult – PHYT822). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training from West Chester University in 1988, her MSPT from Beaver College (Arcadia University) in 1991, and her DPT from Temple University in 2003. Dr. Schmitt is recognized as both a Board Certified Sports Physical Therapist and an Orthopedic Physical Therapist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. She has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 1988. Her clinical interests are in the areas of sports and orthopedic physical therapy. She has been an instructor for the American Red Cross for Basic Life Support and Emergency Medical Response (EMR) since 2002 and an instructor for Cogent Steps for Emergency Response for the Athlete (ERA) since 2015. She has taught a wide breadth of individuals including DPT students, PT’s seeking SCS certification or recertification, and members of PASIG.

Nick Cohen LLC is a Physical Therapist with his BS in Clinical Health Studies. He values the power of hands-on manual therapy such as Myofascial Release, Petrissage, Gua Sha/IASTM, Mulligan, and Maitland Techniques in combination with goal-oriented, patient-specific exercises to help his patients perform and live to their full potential. Nick aims to see every patient as a whole, not just a diagnosis, and believes that great communication between patient and therapist is the key to recovery. Outside of PT, Nick enjoys all things outdoors and is an avid snowboarder, hiker, and musician.

Noelle Manriquez of NMMassage was born and raised in Lahaina and has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2012. After attending the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage in Makawao, she continued her education with a Lomi Lomi apprenticeship at Hale Ho’omana and started her professional career by working synergistically with chiropractors on the West Side of Maui. Since 2014 Noelle has enjoyed working in both clinical settings and luxury spas. Certified in Integrated Medical Massage while being grounded in the healing modality of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Noelle is passionate about injury rehabilitation and prevention while striving for a balanced approach to deep tissue manual therapy. Outside of work, Noelle’s greatest joys are cycling, hiking, and surfing with her family.

Taylor Rusnak LLC is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a former college athlete from Belmont Abbey College, where she completed her bachelor's degree in marketing in 2021. Now working on additional coursework to prepare for a Physical Therapy Doctorate program, Taylor is excited to apply her passion and enthusiasm to the Deep2Peak team.

Melissa Abellanida LLC is a Licensed Physical Therapist, Board Certified Sports Specialist and Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist since 2018. She was born and raised on the beautiful island of Maui and is excited to be home to serve the community she grew up in. Her expertise blends an evidence based approach with the experience of treating a diverse population, ranging from youth and professional athletes to the aging athlete working to stay fit and active.
Melissa's treatment style includes an individualized approach using a broad range of manual therapy skills to reduce pain and improve movement, followed by corrective exercises and management of a strength program. She has been an educator at the university level for as long as she has been a clinician, and she brings this experience into her daily practice as she enjoys implementing different teaching styles to help her patients understand what they need to do to get them moving and out of pain and why.
In her free time, Melissa just wants to be outside! Whether enjoying this beautiful island with her husband (Jack) and two children (Maggie 5, Jordan 3), coaching for the Maui Strikers soccer club or the girls soccer team at King Kekaulike High School, you’ll find her doing something that keeps her moving.

Sarah Hauser of NC6 Training is a Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, former engineer and passionate wave rider. Since 2015, she has helped clients - from resort guests in Wailea to elite athletes - achieve their goals through tailored training programs. With a background in science and a love for ocean sports, Sarah combines precision, analytical thinking, and a focus on enjoyment to create effective, engaging sessions. Sarah is an avid ocean athlete, holding a Guinness World Record for the largest wave windsurfed as well as a foil sports, SUP, surf, and sourdough enthusiast.
Jake Lemming

Jake Lemming is a recent graduate from Indiana University – Indianapolis and a former collegiate tennis player at Hope College. At IUI, he worked one-on-one as a student trainer emphasizing enjoyment and lifelong fitness with his clients. He is a Certified Tennis Professional with the RSPA and has passed his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam. Jake is a lifelong New York Giants fan and is currently in the process of applying to Physical Therapy school.
